Find Data on Refugees in the U.S. through the Self-Sufficiency Research Clearinghouse
July 26, 2016

In the community of refugee service providers, partners and donors, there is increasing desire to move towards evidence-based programming. For instance, data-driven decision-making is one of the Office of Refugee Resettlement’s six guiding principles. But it can be hard to find the data and research most relevant to refugees in the U.S.

One useful source is the Administration for Children and Families, Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation’s Self-Sufficiency Research Clearinghouse. The website hosts studies and evaluations related to self-sufficiency that are valuable for practitioners in many fields, including refugee service providers. You can search “refugee,” “asylee,” or other population of concern to find relevant articles and filter by topics including employment, benefits, income and poverty, education, health, childcare, asset-building, and more.
